DESCRIPTION:Approximately a year after the implementation of the soft drin
ks industry levy\, the UK plans to leave the European Union. The trade arr
angements that the UK will adopt after Brexit are likely to influence the
price of food and food ingredients including sugar\, which currently follo
ws European regulations under the Common Agricultural Policy. This could p
otentially interfere with the effectiveness of the planned soft drinks ind
ustry levy. We used the IMPACT Food Policy model to estimate the implicati
ons of Brexit on the price of sugar and the impact of the proposed soft dr
inks industry levy on cardiovascular mortality and inequalities in England
