DESCRIPTION:\nIn this talk I shall present a story of working towards my P
hD thesis whilst interacting with TIME-EACM project team.\n\nI shall intro
duce key targets striven for by this project and position my own research
goals within there. The talk will describe my approach to component-level
workload characterisation given the TIME message-oriented middleware at it
s very different stages of design and implementation. I shall discuss chal
lenges encountered on this way and present solutions resulted from my coll
aboration with colleagues in the Lab. This presentation will report key am
endments I have done to the SBUS middleware code. These are to introduce Q
oS-awareness in order to duly complete a workload model and suitably proce
ed on to developing a performance model.\n\nThe talk will conclude with su
rvey and analysis of future goals to be achieved in both short-term and lo
 ng-term run.
