 al Railway program in Network Rail.\n \nDigital Railway is industry’s pl
 an for targeting digital systems to increase rail capacity and improve net
 work performance. It is the proposal for the UK to adopt modern digital si
 gnalling and train control within the next 25 years. By using in-train sig
 nalling (called the European Train Control System) and traffic management 
 systems which optimise the speed and movements of trains on the network\, 
 they can be run closer together without supervision.\n \nDavid shall no do

 ..........................\n\nAbout the CURC :\n\nFounded in 1911 from the
  Cambridge University branch of The Railway Club\, Cambridge University Ra
 ilway Club (CURC) is the second oldest railway enthusiast club in the worl
 d! The CURC arranges an event in Cambridge most weeks during Full Term\, m
 ost often a presentation by an invited speaker\, almost always a key profe
 ssional from the rail industry\, on a specific subject. The club is not ju
 st train talk\, but about how the railway works. We have a celebrated hist
 ory of CURC alumni who now work in the railway industry\, with some at qui
 te senior levels.\n \nMembership for students costs £10 per year or £25 
 for life membership. We charge £3 at the door for non-members\, upon your
  third entry to a talk (first two talks are free). So come and try us out
