DESCRIPTION:In equivariant homotopy theory there are some phenomena that e
xist not\njust for a specific group but rather for a family of groups. An
instance of these are\ncertain equivariant cohomology theories: K-theory\,
cobordism\, cohomotopy groups etc...\nThe idea of global stable homotopy
theory is to study these equivariant phenomena\nsimultaneously without cho
osing a specific group. There are many way to formalize this\nidea\, in th
is talk we will describe Schwede's approach via orthogonal spectra.
