DESCRIPTION:Biologists have a good understanding of the evolutionary proce
sses required to generate divergence between populations\, yet the relativ
e importance of different processes is debated. Silvereyes are excellent i
sland colonisers\, with numerous forms at varying stages of divergence acr
oss the south Pacific region. These forms can be considered proxies for ea
rly stages of the speciation continuum. Using phenotypic and genomic data\
, I examine how divergence proceeds and how processes of selection\, drift
and gene flow contribute to their divergence.
