DESCRIPTION:I will review some recent and forthcoming datasets that aim to
extract\nfundamental cosmology from the galaxy distribution\, particularl
y the\nDES and DESI experiments. A particular issue in this field is the\n
control of systematics\, and I will discuss steps that are taken to\nensur
e that results of a given experiment are internally consistent.\nBut there
has been a recent tendency for less than perfect agreement\nbetween diffe
rent experiments ("tensions")\, indicating either possible\nnew physics or
undiagnosed systematics. I will discuss a proposal for\nhow the latter ma
y be allowed for in order to derive conservative\nlimits on cosmological p
 arameters.
