DESCRIPTION:Radio cosmology is a new area of research with a great deal of
potential. Intensity mapping is an innovative technique\, which uses HI t
o map the large-scale structure of the Universe in three dimensions. In th
is talk I will first give an introduction to radio cosmology\, with specia
l emphasis on the intensity mapping technique. I will then present recent
work on prospects for HI and cosmological measurements using large sky int
ensity mapping surveys with the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) and its pathf
inders (MeerKAT)\, alone and in combination with optical galaxy surveys li
ke Euclid and LSST. I will also discuss the possibility to test General Re
lativity and inflation using HI intensity mapping\, optical galaxy\, and C
 MB surveys.
