DESCRIPTION:We review progress in computing amplitudes from an understandi
 ng of their symmetries and singular structure. In particular it is shown h
 ow amplitudes may be computed using factorisation and generalised unitarit
 y rather than conventional techniques. Finally recent progress in computin
 g QCD amplitudes in analytic form at two-loop using these techniques is pr
 esented.
