DESCRIPTION:We have recently entered an era of high resolution\, spatially
resolved\nobservations of protoplanetary discs\, which are revealing exci
ting disc\nstructures. Such structures give us clues on the protoplanetar
y disc and\nplanet formation processes. I will discuss some of the causes
of spirals\,\nrings\, gaps and asymmetries in protoplanetary discs. I wil
l also discuss\nthe possible processes that are causing the spirals in the
Elias 2-27 disc\,\nand will show how we might observationally determine i
 f a planet is\nmigrating.
