DESCRIPTION:The UCU is negotiating hard on your behalf to prevent the clos
 ure of your Defined Benefit USS pension scheme\, and its replacement by a 
 scheme dependent on the performance of your ‘investments’ rather than 
 contributions. Independent analysis shows that a typical staff member stan
 ds to lose around £200 000 over their retirement\, with most facing losse
 s of between 20% to 40%.\n\nThe UCU ballot on strike action on the future 
 of USS closes next week (Friday 19th). Ballot papers can be posted First C
 lass as late as Wednesday 17th\, or even the 18th.\n\nOn Wednesday\, Amand
