DESCRIPTION:Come and join us for a screening of the critically acclaimed a
nd award-winning film »Dusky Paradise« (IMDb 7.4)\, followed by an exclu
sive Q&A session with director Gregory Kirchhoff!\n\n**The film will be sh
own in English and we will provide free Ben & Jerry's**\n\nAfter his paren
ts’ sudden death\, Jacob travels to another country to take care of his
inheritance\, which turns out to be a dream house with a pool in a picture
sque location. And a turtle. Uninterested in any form of social interactio
n\, Jacob spends his days lounging on a deck chair\, depleting the conside
rable stock of alcohol that he finds in the house. But Jacob’s peaceful\
, apathetic existence is turned upside down when he meets Matteo\, a somew
hat annoying neighbour – a typical southerner and\, of course\, his tota
l opposite. Jacob is suddenly forced out of his comfort zone as he becomes
increasingly involved in a world of people and emotion. May life be more
 than eating\, drinking\, and sleeping?\n\n»Dusky Paradise« is a film abo
ut the potential of life. Tackling themes of grief\, heartbreak\, and feel
ing lost\, the warm cinematography and touching humour of these troubled c
haracters offer a stirring look at the importance of human relationships.
\n\nThe film was nominated for numerous international awards including the
Discovery Award for »Best Debut Feature« at the Raindance Film Festival
. It won\, amongst others\, the National Film Award UK as the »Best Forei
gn Film« and the Evolutionary Island Award at the Evolution International
  Film Festival.\n\n‘Personal\, stylish\, extraordinary performances… B
ravo!’ – Academy Award and Palme d’or winner Volker Schlöndorff\n\n
‘A silent magic develops as the film slowly draws you into its spell.’
  – Babette Schröder\, producer of Academy Award winning »The Counterfe
iters«\n\n‘This is everything you could ever want from an indie film an
d more.’ – Raindance Film Festival\n\nGregory Kirchhoff has been haile
d as the next big name in German cinema for the past few years. He was bor
n in 1992 in Hamburg. After studying in England and Spain\, Gregory wrote
and directed his debut feature »Dusky Paradise« (2016) at the age of 22.
His second film\, the German tragic-comedy »Ostfriesisch für Anfänger
«\, was picked up by Universum Film and released nationwide in 2016. His
