DESCRIPTION:The first in the _Making Refuge_ series at Michaelhouse Centre
  on Mondays at 1pm (with a soup lunch starting at 12.30).\n\nVaughan Pilik
 ian is an award-winning documentary filmmaker and graduate of Cambridge. H
 e will be speaking on his forthcoming work\, _Flight_\, about the journeys
  of refugees through Europe.\n\nHis award-winning films in the genres of f
 iction\, animation and documentary have screened at over one hundred festi
 vals across the world. He has published four books\, been commissioned to 
 make a work by the Yard Theatre\, Resonance FM\, the Grierson Trust and th
 e UK Film Council\, and his paintings are in private collections in the U.
 S. In 2012 he devised\, designed and directed a full-length performance wo
 rk Leper Colony\, which ran for three weeks to controversy and acclaim. Hi
 s articles about art and politics have appeared in various publications\; 
 most recently\, the LADA Live Art Almanac Volume 4. He is currently at wor
 k on two new films\, a new book and a new performance. Vaughan Pilikian is
  chairman of Latter Lammas and Artistic Director of performance collective
  Unruowe.
