DESCRIPTION:The existing “one-size-fits-all" approach in healthcare is g
 radually shifting to a more proactive and personalized model. New\, adapta
 ble to the purpose technologies that allow device integration with biologi
 cal tissue are hence immediately needed and\, as most technologies are lim
 ited by the materials used\, materials research and development will be th
 e key driver for this. \nIn this seminar\, the speakers will focus on orga
 nic electronic materials as a promising candidate for interfacing with bio
 logy as well as for satisfying the high technological demands of electroni
 cs industry. In particular\, the speakers will discuss the use of electric
 ally conducting polymer-based biomimetic devices coupled with i) functiona
 l bacterial membranes for high throughput antibiotics screening as well as
 \, ii) complex 3D cell cultures toward the development of organ-on-chip pl
 atform that allows for dynamic assessment of tissue growth.\n
