DESCRIPTION:We are very excited to introduce our next speaker\, Dame Ottol
 ine Leyser!\n\nDame Leyser is a director at the Sainsbury Laboratory\, the
  UK’s leading plant science research institute\, where her group focuses
  on the role of plant hormones in the plasticity of plant development. She
  also lectures plant development at the University of Cambridge in her spa
 re time. She received her BA from Newnham College in 1986 and her PhD in g
 enetics in 1990. Her identification of the auxin receptor “solved a clas
 sic problem in biology”\, and she plays a world-leading role in promotin
 g Arabidopsis as a key model organism. She awarded a Damehood in the Queen
 's 2017 Honours List\, and chairs both the British Society for Development
 al Biology and the Royal Society’s Science Policy Advisory Group.\n\nThi
