DESCRIPTION:Reconfigurable systems are increasingly being employed in a la
rge class\nof today’s heterogeneous real-time systems which often demand
\nsatisfaction of stringent timeliness constraints. However\, executing a\
nset of hard real-time applications on reconfigurable systems such that\na
ll timing constraints are satisfied while also allowing efficient\nresourc
e utilization requires effective scheduling\, mapping and\nadmission contr
ol strategies. In case of hardware tasks the\nreconfigurable space can con
sidered as partitioned into tiles\, which can\nbe mapped to the tasks base
d on logic requirement and execution\ndeadline. The tradeoff between task
throughput\, resource and energy\nrequirements can be suitably handled in
the run time by considering\nsuitable hardware variants of the tasks that
can be mapped through\nfull/partial reconfiguration.\n\nThis lecture will
brief on the preliminary concepts of task processing\non FPGAs using soft
and hard cores and the related architectural design.\nScheduling strategie
s will also be introduced in regards to efficient\nmapping of tasks on rec
onfigurable cores both in full and partial\nreconfiguration domain.
