AI4ER CDT
The Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in the Application of Artificial Intelligence to the study of Environmental Risks (AI4ER, https://ai4er-cdt.esc.cam.ac.uk/) trains researchers to develop and apply leading edge computational approaches to address critical global environmental challenges by exploiting vast, diverse, and often untapped environmental datasets. Each year, it admits a cohort of 10-12 students after a highly competitive admissions process. Admitted students are fully funded for four years of study at Cambridge. During their first year, they take a variety of foundational courses in the areas of environmental risk and AI, and in the last three months, undertake an MRes research project. In the subsequent three years, they become affiliated to one of the CDT âs 13 member departments and complete a PhD in that department, under the supervision of a faculty member in that department, typically with additional co-supervision. Some students will additionally be affiliated to the British Antarctic Survey.
You can find more information about the CDT on our website (https://ai4er-cdt.esc.cam.ac.uk/) and updates on activities through our twitter account (https://twitter.com/AI4ER_CDT).
