Abstract
Abstract
Positioning systems have gained maturity in recent years, and have enabled a plethora of applications from location-aware content delivery in commercial applications to situation awareness in emergency response scenarios. In this talk I will provide an overview of some of the research challenges arising from developing positioning and identification systems in the wild. I will then discuss probabilistic approaches to handling noise at different layers of the system, from low level sensor noise, to loop closure errors and trajectory-level distortions.
