Abstract
The Cambridge University German Society warmly invites you to a talk with Dr Berndt Hauptkorn, the President of CHANEL Europe!
Dr Hauptkorn studied in Germany and England, earning a masters degree in Business Administration and a PhD in Laws of Economics.
He started his professional career in advertising, before joining the strategy consulting firm The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and its global consumer goods & media practice.
Dr Hauptkorn moved on to the JAB Holding Company, a privately held group focused on long-term investments in premium brands, where he became the founding CEO of the group’s luxury holding and subsequently the global CEO of Bally. Afterwards, he joined the Japanese high-street retailer Fast Retailing as a Global Officer and oversaw the European strategy and operations as CEO Europe of Uniqlo.
Since 2015, Dr Hauptkorn has been working with CHANEL in Paris as President of the Region Europe. He oversees the business of the brand’s fashion, fragrance & beauty, and watches & jewellery divisions.
At our event, Dr Hauptkorn will give a talk entitled ‘The Business of Luxury’.
