Abstract
Hopf monads are a generalisation of Hopf algebras that have helped to clarify several aspects of their theory, especially those relating to the extra structure carried by the category of representations of a Hopf algebra. There are, however, other structures that qualify as “Hopf” but are outside the reach of the Hopf monads, such as the quasi Hopf algebras of Drinfel’d. This talk reports on current work (joint with Alain Bruguiéres & Mariana Haim) on a notion of Hopf monad that encompases the two examples mentioned, and that is surprisingly simple.
