Abstract

On 22th Feb we’ll host Dr Shai Vyakarnam from Cranfield University for an interactive discussion on the challenges of scaling small businesses.

Shai’s talk is based on his latest book Camels, Tigers & Unicorns: Rethinking Science and Technology-Enabled Innovation, co-authored with Uday Phadke.

There is increasing understanding of the very early stages of taking an idea to market, but what is not understood as well are the challenges of the early steps in scaling the business. This is often referred to simply as “death valley curve”. But for us to make a difference with our research we need to understand the journey of “going to market” in more fine grained ways so that we can be more precise in meeting the needs of society and customers as well as being able to allocate resources and take relevant management decisions.

This event is open to everyone (you don’t have to be a postdoc!).

The talk will be followed by a networking session with food and drinks.
