Abstract
As quantum computers scale up, their potential applications has been of great interest in recent years. In particular, realization of quantum computers in near-term quantum devices have been a subject of intense interest. Variational quantum algorithms, which combines the advantage of both classical and quantum computers, have emerged as a new paradigm. In this talk I aim at introducing some of our recent results in variational algorithms, focusing on quantum chemistry, quantum error correction and quantum machine learning applications.
