Abstract
Exam revision for (A)QFT and Standard Model (if you are already fluent in them, this talk might be trivial to you). Throughout the physics curriculum, one is somehow expected to master the all-important concept of symmetry. But to many students (myself included), it is still an elusive idea that is, at best, understood on a case-by-case basis. I will do my best to give a transparent and coherent account of symmetries and conserved quantities in mechanics and field theory, both classical and quantum, in the Lagrangian and Hamiltonian frameworks. I cannot hope to present “the full picture” but rather a simple, solid basis for understanding.
