Abstract

This presentation/workshop will provide insights into technical aspects of the REF , including some ‘backstage’ processes and the all-important question of the interpretation of REF criteria. Focusing on the 3/4 boundary, we will engage directly in peer assessment of three contrasting, but high quality, pre-circulated outputs. Finally, we will stand back from the immediacy of REF games to consider the longer-term issue of how to develop academic careers which have the potential for producing world-leading research. There will be opportunities for discussion and questions throughout.
