Abstract
The ever increasing power generation on computer chips and other electronic and optical devices, poses a challenge to remove the heat and manage the temperature of the device. the current methods, of free or forced air convection, are clearly inadequate, and other options have to be examined. we proposed, i.a., cooling the devices by means of liquid flow, and liquid boiling, in micro-channels. we shall discuss the peculiarities of boiling in micro-channels, and the challenges that face the thermal designer. the lecture will be accompanied by high speed videos.
