Abstract
Thomas Hobbes’ large book, the ‘Leviathan’, is arguably the original and most influential analysis of political theory in modern Western history. His discussion of the ‘social contract’, by which we all (mostly) get along and – for example – the lights work when we switch them on, should be required reading for anyone interested in political discussions today. I present an account for Engineers. Also, the Leviathan discusses more than just politics, and I’ll talk about some highlights such as Hobbes theory of memory and imagination.
