Abstract
Artist and writer Bonnie Kemske explores the enigmatic Japanese teabowl and the myriad levels of understanding β and misunderstanding β that surround it. Using teabowls from the Fitzwilliam Museum collection, this talk will look at the lyrical beauty of this iconic form, and how its Western versions embrace commentaries on politics, humour and the environment.
Admission is by token, one per person, available at the Courtyard Entrance desk on a first-come first-served basis from 12.45 on the day of the talk. Assisted hearing sets are available.
