Abstract
This talk will draw on a Randomised Control Trial analysis of the impact (on deforestation and water quality) of a Payment for Ecosystem Services scheme in Bolivia, quasi experimental analyses of the impact (on deforestation and economic wellbeing) of Community Forest Management outcomes at the national scale in Madagascar, and a participatory impact evaluation of the impact (on subjective wellbeing) of Protected Aras and CFM in Madagascar. I will highlight the pros and cons of the various approaches to impact evaluation.
