We consider scalar field theories that minimally break time reversal symmetry by means of a low gradient expansion of a background equilibrium dynamics. Using dynamical renormalization, we will show how this equilibrium breaking changes the structure of the flow of the background phi^4 theory. In particular, the Wilson Fisher fixed point splits into a more than one fixed points, one of them controlling a nonequilibrium phase transition, somewhat resembling the equilibrium Lifshitz fixed point that regulates a transition between bulk phase separation and micro-phase separation. This predicts a new universality class that controls the transition between non equilibrium bulk phase separation and micro-phase separation.
