Let G be a compact p-adic Lie group, k a field of characteristic p. An ongoing project in the representation theory of compact p-adic Lie groups is classifying the ideal structure of the completed group algebra, or Iwasawa algebra, kG of G. For G nilpotent carrying a p-valuation, a complete classification for Spec(kG) – the spectrum of prime ideals of kG – has previously been established. We aim to try and extend this result to solvable groups. In particular, for G an abelian-by-procyclic group, we will show that we can obtain an analogous classification for Spec(kG).
