Join us for BioSoc’s first talk of the term! Dr Ines Pineda Torra will be looking at the role of nuclear liver receptors in atherosclerosis and the lessons learnt from mice and humans.

Certain nuclear liver receptors act as metabolic sensors for cellular cholesterol and for this reason these receptors are considered promising drug development targets for atherosclerosis. Dr Ines Pineda Torra and her team generate unique experimental models to help develop improved ligands of the nuclear liver receptors for the treatment of atherosclerosis and other vascular and inflammatory diseases.
