Abstract
A talk by Simon Smith who founded civil and structural engineers Smith and Wallwork in 2012. Simon is also an affiliated lecturer at CUED as well as a director of Trada and trustee of CFCI . Simon will talk about some of the projects he has worked on including the Gazprom Tower in Russia, award winning concrete and timber buildings as well as recent collaborations with artist Alex Chinneck. Research projects at CUED will also be presented. Throughout his talk Simon will touch on the broad skills demanded of engineers in modern construction.
