Abstract
Jonathan Pallant, Embedded Systems Engineer at Cambridge Consultants, talks us through the highlights of Rust – Mozilla’s new fast, reliable and productive systems programming language – and how a language designed for building multi-threaded web browsers is equally at home on an ARM microcontroller. The talk is illustrated using ‘Monotron’, Jonathan’s home-brew 1980s-style ARM -based computer with a ROM written in pure-Rust.
