Abstract
Unipolar depression in adolescents is a major mental health burden with a 50% recurrence rate into adult life. Current treatments are short term lasting around 12-20 weeks and only moderately effective at best effecting a remission rate in around two-thirds of those entering clinical trials. Whether genetic, physiological and developmental processes are useful in aiding treatment decision making is not known: these possibilities will be the focus of this presentation.
