Abstract
In its original form, the AdS/CFT correspondence is motivated by string theory. An open question is whether dualities between gravity and quantum field theories are valid more generally than within string theory. Based on the holographic principle, recently there has been a lot of interest in mapping the information properties of black holes to concepts from quantum information theory. This requires to define quantum information concepts such as computational complexity also within quantum field theory. This is a non-trivial task since these concepts now have to be defined in infinite-dimensional Hilbert spaces. We discuss recent proposals and examples in this context.
