- π Venue: Engineering Department - LR6
Abstract
Engineering in the water sector throws up a number of challenges, not least for the geotechnical engineer. However, these challenges are not all technical: information availability, logistics, budgets and even political influence can shape the engineering solutions that are developed. Engineers sometimes need a βwhat can we do with what weβve got?β attitude. The talk will illustrate a number of these issues with the aid of some project examples from the UK and overseas.
Series This talk is part of the Engineering Department Geotechnical Research Seminars series.
