Abstract
This seminar reviews the social science research process. It gives particular focus to the use and analysis of qualitative methods using example research problems which might be encountered in engineering. I discuss how to select qualitative research methods which are appropriate to particular circumstances. While there are a number of good books which explain methods and approaches in social research, this seminar will discuss the best ways to analyse the resulting data, a topic which is less well covered in the literature.
Series This talk is part of the Engineering Design Centre series.
