An Investigation of Change Impact Analysis
- 👤 Speaker: Malia Kilpinen, PhD student at Cambridge EDC
- 📅 Date & Time: Wednesday 07 May 2008, 16:30 - 17:30
- 📍 Venue: Meeting Rooms 1A+1B, (off the Oatly Lab), 2nd Floor, Engineering Department
Abstract
This talk will discuss Malia’s PhD research on “change impact analysis” or how engineers scope the impact of design modifications. The results from two empirical case studies (using a grounded-theory informed approach) will be presented along with the use of system dynamics modelling, offering an example of how these different approaches can be combined and implemented. This research uses these methods to elicit strategies to improve impact analysis and analyse the consequences of these strategies on design projects.
Series This talk is part of the Engineering Design Centre series.
