Abstract
This talk will consider two very different Bronze Age settlements, through zooarchaeological study of their faunal assemblages, their architecture and distinctive environment(s). One, a remarkable dryland site featuring a multi-enclosure complex and an unparalleled volume of animal bone, and the other a wetland pile dwelling with outstanding preservation and an unusual approach to animal use. These two assemblages offer a great opportunity to look into some of the advantages, but also the challenges, of interpreting faunal assemblages within the commercial archaeological sector.
