Abstract
We define what is classically meant by a ‘modular form’, which are certain holomorphic functions on upper half plane satisfying certain functional equations; and we give two ways of constructing it. By a key finite dimensionality result, we can deduce the exact number of writing a number as sum of four squares as an easy corollary.
