Single Cell Multi-Omics Technologies and Applications
- đ¤ Speaker: Dr Lia Chappell (Sanger) & Mr Ricard Argelaguet (EMBL-EBI)
- đ Date & Time: Wednesday 20 March 2019, 18:30 - 20:00
- đ Venue: Postdoc Centre, Biomedical Campus, Bay 13, Hills Road, Cambridge CB2 0SP
Abstract
Single-cell RNA -sequencing techniques have provided an unprecedented opportunity to study cellular heterogeneity and lineage diversification. The simultaneous measurement of multiple omic layers in the same cell represent powerful methods for investigating regulatory relationships. Such single-cell multiomics technologies can reveal multiple dimensions of cellular heterogeneity and uncover how this variation is coupled between the different molecular layers.
The first speaker will: - Give an introduction to widely used and more complex single cell wet lab methods - Explain where the edges of current single cell technology are, with predictions of next breakthroughs The second speaker will: - Introduce a computational framework for the analysis of multi-omics data sets - Discuss how multi-omics can be used to study cell fate decisions during embryonic development
