Bio:
Jat is a PhD student in the Opera group under the supervision of Pr Jean Bacon. He holds a BSc from the University of Western Australia, and is now researching after several years in industry developing medical and judicial support systems.
He is working on the CareGrid project, where the aim is to develop middleware for supporting decisions based on trust, privacy, security and context models in a healthcare application domain.
His particular area of interest is in the realm of privacy, ethics, trust and security as it relates to distributed computing environments. His interest is both in the social/political aspects of such issues, as well as the technical issues of building safeguards into the infrastructure to ensure adherence to such policies.
