Abstract
Monte Carlo (MC) event generators are essential in much of collider physics, as a key component to relate experimentally measured variables to the parameters of the underlying theory that we wish to probe. In this talk I will give a short review of Monte Carlo generators, their recent developments and then show fascinating interplay between proton structure functions (PDF) and MC event generators predictions. This talk sets out an approach for design of PDF in a novel, so-called Monte Carlo factorisation scheme which is tailored to exactly fit the PS MC generators. The approach is illustrated by applying it to relevant processes at the LHC .
