Abstract
In this talk, I will discuss our recent work on quantum effects in zero-error communication. For the communication through classical channels, I will introduce a “dual” characterization for the entanglement-assisted zero-error capacity using Strassen’s theory of asymptotic spectra, which as a consequence unifies previous results and naturally gives rise to new questions. For the communication through quantum channels, I will present a quantum generalisation of Haemers’ min rank upper bound on the zero-error capacity of classical channels. Analogy to the classical setting, our quantum Haemers bound upper bounds the zero-error capacity of quantum channels, and can be strictly better than all the other known upper bounds.
This talk is based on joint work with Jeroen Zuiddam (arXiv:1810.00744) and Sander Gribling (in preparation).
