Abstract
I will describe recent data from colliders, potentially pointing to the existence of a new force. A new feature is that this new force is felt to different extents by the different families of fundamental particles. The putative new force comes with a heavy force-carrying particle that may be produced and detected directly in the Large Hadron Collider, which would provide “smoking gun” evidence for it.
About the Speaker: Professor Ben Allanach is a professor of theoretical physics at the University of Cambridge, in the Theoretical High Energy Particle Physics Group. Beyond the Standard Model phenomenology. he is interested in Large Hadron Collider signals of new physics, b physics anomalies and searches at a Future Circular Collider, interpreting data and calculating the supersymmetric spectrum.
