Abstract
The tumour microenvironment is characterised by the infiltration and activation of stromal cells and establishment of both reinforcing tumour-stroma crosstalk pathways and crosstalk between different stromal cell populations. This seminar will focus on the role of the cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) and pericytes in breast cancer progression and the therapeutic strategies we are developing, including CAR T -cells and antibody-drug conjugates, to target these activated stromal cell populations, particularly in the metastatic setting.
