Abstract
A common theme in model theory is to fix a mathematical structure exhibiting some notion of tameness for definable sets, and study expansions of that structure by new definable sets which preserve this tameness. Examples include the study of stable expansions of the complex field and o-minimal expansions of the real field, both of which have led to spectacular applications of model theory to other areas of mathematics. In this talk, I will discuss several results on classifying tame expansions of the group of integers (and other “weakly minimal” groups).
