Abstract
If we want to educate and support the professional development of high quality physics teachers, are we clear as to what they look like? James will share his research exploring the views of those within and around the physics teaching community in England. Teachers, secondary school students and other stakeholders were surveyed to gain a fuller understanding of what they perceive a ‘good’ physics teacher to be. Combining these findings and the existing literature in this field, James will examine what this might mean for initial teacher education and early career support for physics teachers.
