Abstract
The metabolome is the full complement of metabolites present in a cell, tissue, or organism in a particular physiological or developmental state. As such, it is highly responsive to homeostatic changes induced by genetics, external factors and treatment and ideal to study disease, gene function, toxicology, environmental analysis, clinical diagnostics, nutrition, and the discrimination of organism genotypes. Metabolon is the global leader in metabolomics and has developed an unbiased global approach to profiling the entire innate metabolome and a vast amount of xenobiotics providing an irreplaceable aid in the enhancement of animal health and well-being.
In the above presentation, we will provide an overview of platforms, deliverables, pathway and analysis tools. We will explain how these tools inform data analysis to deliver validated knowledge rather than data that delivers “best guess” metabolomics via putative identification of metabolites.
Finally, this presentation will share insights into elucidating the complex relationship between nutrition and metabolism and how this data stream can empower investigators in animal health and medicine to develop innovative dietary components and regimens formulated for health maintenance and/or disease management.
