Abstract
The Cambridge Bahá’í community has organised a series of talks and discussions on several core principles and teachings of the Bahá’í Faith, entitled “Principles for a Better World”.
Talks will take place on Wednesdays from 8-9:30pm from mid-January to mid-April. All talks are free and open to all, and light refreshments will be served.
The title of this talk is “Pure and goodly deeds: How worship and service go hand-in-hand” .
Please note the date of this talk has changed to 25th March!
Should we spend our time praying or performing acts of service to help others who are less fortunate? It turns out we can do both. According to the teachings of the Bahá’í Faith, work itself is considered to be worship when it is done in the spirit of helping others. “Work done in the spirit of service is the highest form of worship.” In this talk, we will explore how this principle can be applied to our daily lives for the betterment of the world.
“The well-being of mankind, its peace and security, are unattainable unless and until its unity is firmly established.”
Series This talk is part of the Cambridge University Bahá'í Society series.
