Abstract
Renormalisation is a very powerful tool to study quantum field theories in flat spacetimes. In the past it has been used over and over again to make precise calculations and to give us our deepest understanding of what is a quantum field theory. Hence it is only natural to try to extend this tool to curved spacetimes, however, in that scenario we would need to allow our renormalisation scale to depend on the spacetime point. This talk will go through the main details involved in defining such a local RG scheme. This is also one of the main results of arxiv:1910.09559 written in collaboration with Jorge Santos.
Series This talk is part of the Quantum Fields and Strings Seminars series.
